When the local body elections in Uttar Pradesh are ahead, the state unit of the BJP has released Samajvadi party president Akhilesh Yadav targeting by accusing him as a savior of gangster politicians like Atiq Ahmed and Mukhtar Ansari and blaming him for the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots.
The video titled, “Gundey Pukartey Hain, Akhilesh Aaiye” — Criminals are pleading Akhilesh to come to power — was released by the UP BJP on its official Twitter handle on Monday.
the 4.24-minute video shows old photos of him with former MP Atiq Ahmed who has killed in Prayagraj recently and Mukhtar Ansari, who is currently in jail, with the song– “Muzaffarnagar ka danga gulzar tumhi se tha…Mukhtar aur Atiq ka uddhar tumse tha… Aparadhiyon ko neta banaya tumhi ne tha…Gaurva aur sachin ko marwaya tumhi ne tha… Dangon mein UP ko vapas jalaiye… (Muzaffarnagar riots happened because of you… Mukhtar and Atiq prospered because of you… You made criminals political leaders, you got Gaurav and Sachin killed… Come, and set UP ablaze again in riots)” – playing in the background.
accusing Akhilesh of giving respect to Eve teasers, the video shows a photograph of former minister Gayatri Prajapati, currently in jail in a case of rape and extortion.
Notably, the BJP, through the video, also accused Akhilesh of “shattering” his father Mulayam Singh Yadav’s dream of following the ideals of Jai Prakash Narayan or JP. “UP ko jisne loota, who neta tumhi to they.. .JP ke sapne tod de, who beta tumhi toh they (The one who looted UP, the politician you were… The one who shattered JP’s dreams, the son you were…),” the song says.
Calling Akhilesh the face of “nakli samajwad (fake socialism)”, the BJP’s campaign song warns people that if SP comes to power, he will again order firing on Ram Bhakts.
Reacting to the BJP’s video, SP leader and uncle of Akhilesh, Shivpal Yadav said BJP’s language has now become of “roadside crooks” and the party has turned into an “institution of character assassination”.
