Mumbai: The glamour world looks like a shimmery dream from the outside but the people living this dream knows the price they pay. On that note we had a conversation with actor Karan Thakur who has recently been seen in webseries like Commondo (Hotstar), Avrodh 2 (SonyLiv) & Aarambh (Watcho).

Karan says – It is absolutely true that becoming a professional actor and coming onscreen is a dream for millions of people however as every worthy thing has a price to it the same goes with being an actor in Film & TV industry.

I was recently locked for a primary character for an upcoming prime time show in one of the most popular channel but few days before commencement of shoot I was replaced as the channel started looking for more options. Sadly it is not the first time something unlikely like that has happened to me.

Most of the actors face rejections in their day to day life as out of many shortlisted actors only one gets the part. And, if it’s a BIG project or a life changing opportunity the heart ache & disappointment is even more.

Karan Adds. – However, as it is a passion driven profession and more than a career it is a ‘calling’ which involves it’s own risks and apprehensions. It is always good to have a side hustle or a safety net to fall back as many people come accross severe consequences by facing back to back work related rejections.

Above all as actors we need to be hopeful & positive that eventually good things will take place and if it is has not happened yet remember Shah rukh khan’s lines from Om Shanti Om… “Picture Abhi baki hai mere Dost” Karan Thakur Concludes.
