On June 1, the trainer aircraft Kiran of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed near Chamarajanagar. The two pilots, however, successfully escaped before the collision.

The pilots, identified by the local police as Tejpal and Bhumika, who suffered injuries, were taken to Bengaluru for treatment after the incident, which occurred at Bhogapura about 10 kilometers from Chamarajanagar town. According to local police, they are safe, citing defense troops.

The IAF stated that the pilots were on a routine training sortie and that a Court of Inquiry has been appointed to determine the accident’s cause. The IAF is currently looking into the cause of the incident.
A piece of the aircraft was engulfed in flames following the crash, according to the Chamarajanagar district disaster management staff who arrived on the scene immediately after learning of the incident.

No civilians were hurt, and the wreckage of the airplane was scattered throughout a desolate area of the landscape. Although the pilots had parachuted to safety, the people who initially saw the plane crash alerted the police and the disaster management cell arrived at the scene for rescue and relief activities.
