An Air India Express B737-800 aircraft experienced an engine fire on February 3, during its flight from Abu Dhabi to Calicut. The flight declared an emergency and returned safely to Abu Dhabi, with no injuries to the 184 passengers on board. The incident was caused by a flameout in the number one engine at 1,000 feet during takeoff.

Recently, another Air India Express flight from Trivandrum to Muscat had to make a turnaround due to a technical glitch in the flight management system. Meanwhile, an Air India Express flight from Sharjah experienced suspected hydraulic failure during landing at the Cochin International Airport, but was safely landed. No anomalies were detected in the flight system after the landing and all passengers and crew members were safe. The pilot had taken precautions by informing the air traffic control due to a fluctuation in the hydraulic pressure system.
