With Indian 2, Kamal Haasan will take on the role of a vigilante once more.

Despite several rumours that the movie was being shelved, Lyca Productions and director Shankar Shanmughan have put an end to all of them by also unveiling the new Indian 2 poster. After a two-year hiatus, director Shankar announced the shoot would resume on social media.
It’s due to success of Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram and how it came out as a huge surprise hit.

Shankar S and Lyca Productions took to Instagram to unveil the latest poster of Indian 2 featuring Kamal Haasan as an old vigilante amidst a red backdrop. On the other hand, Shankar S took to Twitter to announce that the team will be resuming the shoot after their hiatus. Confirming it, director Shankar said, “Good morning Indians, we are glad to announce that the remaining shoot for Indian 2 is commencing today! Need all of your support and wishes ????????”

The movie had been in production for almost three years when the shooting abruptly came to an end in February 2020 due to an accident. After the heavy duty lights crashed, reports stated that three individuals perished on the sets and ten more were injured.

Additionally, the pandemic caused additional delays for the movie. A few other rumours said that after taking a pregnancy break, the leading woman Kajal Aggarwal was not interested in continuing. To put an end to all of this, the filmmakers have now revealed that the movie has not only been picked back up but will also have two starring females, much like the prequel.

While Indian featured Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar as leading ladies, the sequel will feature Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh along with Bobby Simha and Priya Bhavani Shankar in pivotal roles.
