Heavy rainfall swept across several parts of Rajasthan, bringing temporary relief from soaring temperatures but also triggering concerns over waterlogging and disruptions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts for multiple districts, warning residents of continued rainfall and possible thunderstorms.

Cities such as Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, and Ajmer witnessed sudden spells of rain accompanied by gusty winds. The change in weather pattern came as a surprise for many, especially as the region had been experiencing intense heatwave-like conditions in recent weeks. The rainfall led to a noticeable drop in temperatures, providing much-needed relief to residents and farmers alike.

According to IMD officials, the rainfall activity is linked to a western disturbance interacting with local weather systems. This combination has created favorable conditions for precipitation across parts of the state. Authorities have warned that isolated areas could experience heavy rainfall, lightning, and strong winds, which may disrupt daily life.

In urban centers like Jaipur, waterlogging was reported in low-lying areas, causing traffic congestion during peak hours. Commuters faced delays as roads became slippery and visibility was reduced. Municipal authorities have been put on alert to manage drainage systems and prevent flooding.

Farmers, on the other hand, have welcomed the rainfall, as it helps improve soil moisture levels. However, experts caution that excessive or unseasonal rain could damage standing crops if it continues for an extended period. Agricultural departments have advised farmers to take precautionary measures to protect their produce.

The IMD has categorized the alerts into yellow and orange warnings, depending on the severity of expected rainfall. A yellow alert indicates the need to stay updated, while an orange alert suggests preparedness for possible disruptions.

Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall and stay indoors during thunderstorms. The authorities have also urged people to stay away from electric poles and trees during lightning activity.

Overall, while the rain has brought respite from heat, it has also highlighted the need for preparedness and caution. Weather experts predict that such intermittent rainfall may continue over the next few days, keeping the region under close observation.
