Mumbai: In an exclusive interview with Xpert Times, we meet Kanika Sharma, a talented artist with a remarkable journey from Ambala Cantt, Haryana, to the entertainment industry. Born on February 27, 1996, Kanika’s passion and dedication have driven her to where she stands today.

Kanika’s dream of becoming an actor took root early on. Her journey began in 2015 when she was crowned Ms. Fresher during her first year of college. This accolade opened doors to the world of acting, leading her to explore plays and fashion shows. In 2018, she took her first audition for a series called “Roses and Skulls,” marking her initial steps toward her dream career.

The turning point arrived in 2021 when Kanika secured a role in the serial “Udaariyan” on the Colors channel. However, her breakthrough came in 2022 with the serial “Swaranghar” on the same channel, where she portrayed the character ‘Mallika.’ This experience allowed her to work alongside accomplished actors like Mr. Hiten Tejwani and Mrs. Sangeeta Ghosh, earning her immense love and appreciation from the audience.

Presently, Kanika actively collaborates with renowned creators Mr. Saqib Saifi and Mr. Anand Mandal, creating content for YouTube and Facebook.

Beyond her acting career, Kanika has a passion for cooking and playing the flute during her leisure time. She also nurtures a dream of becoming a DJ, a skill she hopes to acquire in the future.

Kanika’s compassionate side extends to the welfare of animals. Inspired by her brother, a dedicated social worker in this field, she contributes by providing medicines and food for animals in need.

Acknowledging the uncertainties and challenges in the entertainment industry, Kanika openly discusses the high competition and the unpredictable nature of the work. She shared personal experiences of struggling days, including times when she faced hunger and modest accommodations in Mumbai while diligently attending auditions.

Kanika strongly believes that “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,” emphasizing the importance of pursuing one’s dreams with determination.

Her aspirations extend to web series, particularly in the thriller or documentary genres. Kanika dreams of sharing the screen with esteemed actors such as Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Anupam Kher, Alia Bhatt, and Rajkumar Rao.

Describing herself as a happy soul who loves to bring laughter to others, Kanika occasionally admits to moodiness but balances it with a love for South Indian cuisine and a passion for travel.

Whether on set or through her Insta live sessions, Kanika ensures she stays connected with her admirers.

Kanika has recently collaborated with a major brand for an advertisement, slated to hit the floors next month.
