Snapchat has announced the launch of its latest AI-powered chatbot called ‘My AI’, which has been developed in partnership with OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The new chatbot has been customized for use on Snapchat and will be available exclusively to Snapchat+ subscribers as an experiment. Users can expect personalized recommendations ranging from birthday gift ideas to party planning and more, with the AI bot accessible via the Chat tab for subscribed users.

In an official blog post, the company has cautioned its users about sharing any personal information or secrets, as all conversations with My AI will be stored and reviewed by Snap employees to enhance the product experience. The company has also urged users to use the chatbot responsibly and be aware of its many deficiencies, as with all AI-powered chatbots, My AI is prone to hallucination and can be tricked into saying just about anything.

While the feature is currently only available to Snapchat+ subscribers, it remains unclear whether it will be extended to all Snapchat users in the near future. Nonetheless, the introduction of My AI reinforces Snapchat’s commitment to providing its users with a personalized and engaging experience through the use of innovative AI-powered technology.
