New Delhi : India’s largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has announced that it will soon be announcing salary hikes for its staff. The company’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Milind Lakkad, stated that the salary hikes would be similar to those given in previous years. TCS is taking a different approach to many companies during this global economic downturn, as Lakkad announced that the company is not considering any layoffs. Instead, TCS believes in grooming its employees for longer careers and is even looking to hire start-up employees who have lost their jobs.

Lakkad stated that TCS does not believe in layoffs, as the company is committed to grooming its talent. According to him, once an employee joins TCS, it is the company’s responsibility to make them productive and derive value from their skills. Although other companies may be forced to lay off employees, TCS believes in taking a different approach.

As many start-ups and big firms have laid off people, especially in sectors such as education technology, TCS is looking to hire impacted workers. Lakkad revealed that the company is seeking talent in user experience design, artificial intelligence, many aspects of cloud, and having product experience.
