Manoj Bajpayee reveals he almost refused the role of Srikant Tiwari in ‘The Family Man’ for THIS reason – Times of India

Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘The Family Man’ is undoubtedly one of the most popular web series we have had so far. The actor has also received a lot of love and adulation from his fans for his role of Srikant Tiwari in the series.

However, did you know that Bajpayee almost rejected the role for some reason? Yes, you read that right. Speaking at a panel discussion on the sidelines of India’s ongoing International Film Festival (IFFI), the actor revealed that when he was approached for the series, he was afraid to take it up as he saw the content confined to a template on the web.

According to him, he was not clear as to what he wanted to be part of but was very clear about what he never wanted to be part of. The actor added that although a few of the series garnered quite a lot of curiosity and excitement from the audiences, there was a template that makers were following, which included blood, gore and pistols.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who was a part of the show in its second season, spoke about taking a risk with the show. According to her, the actress decided to take a risk for the growth of an actor in her and that doing ‘The Family Man’ has benefited her tremendously as it opened up many new avenues for her.

Apart from them, the show also featured Priyamani in the lead role.
