Five killed, 21 injured in J&K road mishap


JAMMU: Five persons were killed and 21 injured in a road accident in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
Police said four persons died on the spot and 21 suffered injuries when a bus on the way from Poonch to Jammu met with an accident near Deri Ralyot in the Charkote area on Thursday afternoon. One critically injured person died on the way to hospital.
In another mishap in Rajouri, seven persons, including four women and two teenagers, sustained injuries when the cab they were travelling in skidded off into a gorge.
The cab was on its way from Bai Nambal to Rajouri when it met with the accident as the driver lost control near Mandir Gala, police said. All the injured were evacuated to hospital and were stated to be stable.
A day earlier, 11 persons had been killed and 27 injured in an accident in Mandi tehsil of J&K’s Poonch district.
